Church Planter’s Wife – Blessed!

March 9, 2012

I am sharing today with Kelly’s Korner blog.  She is so sweet to be hosting a day especially for pastor’s wives to connect, via her site.  I love connecting with pastor’s wives!  Nine years ago, my husband, John Bryson, and two other men, teamed up to plant Fellowship Memphis.  I LOVE our church!  Our church is racially diverse, Biblically sound, and, I love the worship time!   We have an amazing children’s ministry as well.  I am so thankful and honored to be John’s wife.  He truly loves his “kingdom” work and, this is all I could ever hope and pray for, that he would love his job.   I feel very blessed to be a part of our church because the members are truly so kind and loving.  I do not really ever feel that “fish bowl” pressure and, for that, I am grateful.  I also feel very thankful that I can just be myself at church.  Again, this is because of the AMAZING people who attend.  One funny thing, and, I take it as a huge compliment…..people will often tell me, “Wow!  you don’t seem like a typical pastor’s wife”…..this is funny to me, because, after all….what am I supposed to act like?  LOL!

My true heart’s cry is that people would see Christ in and through my life.  I am a mess, just like anyone, but, I truly want my life to shine for HIM!  By His grace, we are made complete.  He has changed my everything, and, I am so blessed!

Here is my “life verse”.  No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.  -Psalm 84:11

Hope you all have a super weekend!   Blessings to All, Beth

I used to get “You seem so normal, not like a preacher’s wife.” I take it as a compliment too, but I don’t know how to act any different. I’ll be checking in on your blog often, trying to glean all church plant advice I can get!

Hi jumped over from Kelly’s link up. We are a church plant also in Venice beach CA. I am from TN and truly a southern girl at heart. We have been pioneering for 7 years.
I usually do not feel any of that fish bowl stuff either…however I just gave birth to our stillborn son 1-24-12 and It has been a little difficult to cope with grief with everyone watching. I hear all the time you don seem like a pastor’s wife??? I didn’t know we were cookie cutters LOL. You have a real flair for decorating and photography… I to love both. Although I do not get to do much decorating on our budget. CA is expensive!
    Thanks for sharing
