Here is Part II of my awesome “Girl’s Weekend”! I am VERY thankful to my sweet hubby for taking care of our children and, giving me a nice little time away. What a blessing! On Saturday, Melinda and I ate a wonderful breakfast at The Alluvian hotel, where we were staying. The cheese grits were literally swimming in butter, gotta love the deep south! We ate biscuits and gravy, fresh scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and, my favorite thing, sipped hot coffee. From breakfast, we strolled around the Greenwood, Mississippi square and shopped a bit. I bought a cute outfit for my baby girl, Blair.
We ate lunch at the wonderful Delta Bistro restaurant. DIVINE! Melinda ordered a yummy shimp po’ boy sandwich and, I enjoyed a classic Reuben. Very good!
We sat all afternoon and watched Whitney Houston’s funeral, we both really were big fans of her music. The televised service was touching.
Off to dinner…right in the hotel lobby is the totally amazing, Giardina’s Restaurant. Oh my! I can not say enough about how wonderful their food is! First class, all the way! We ate seafood gumbo, seasoned to perfection, bar-b-q shrimp with the best sauce I believe I have ever tasted, and, for dessert….homemade fudge gelato and, when I am telling you that it tasted like pure heaven….I mean it!!!! We headed for home, Sunday morning, right after another wonderful breakfast. The MOST refreshing weekend! Please take some time off soon and, plan a girl’s weekend, truly a must!!!
